Bold Garden Design Cotswolds

Bold garden designMany clients leave it to us to expand their thoughts to provide colour and “Something Different.”

This garden offers something different and enables it to become more private from the openness of its surroundings.

The fence pillars are of powder-coated steel in this lovely red finish. Being powder coated rather than painted the structures finish is long lasting providing less maintenance. The structures meet planning approval so enables the garden to become more privatised. Through our Landscape Architect eyes the steel structures provide colour an elegant backdrop for planting and provides maximum privacy.

The shrubs are planted through aggregate over a membrane with subtle lighting offers enjoyment well into the evening.

Raised Bed Garden Design

This garden design facilitates lovely grasses to grow within raised wall beds.

Seen here the raised beds follow the steps that deliver excellent side protection and provide height as well as be able to contain alternative soil if required.

With different natural walling and stone paving a clean background with colourful flowering borders bring interest all year round.

This garden shows two distinct walls and stone paving that exudes quality and links the gentle flow of colours from the natural stone to the different red colours of the flowers.

Garden Design Oxfordshire

The garden illustrated is for a client living in one of the Cotswold Oxfordshire villages between Banbury and Cheltenham.
The detached house owners had already installed a timber red deck terrace. Our brief was to create a garden to not only integrate with the terrace but to make it far easier for the family to walk up the steps safely from the garage entrance up to the house.

The slope from the garage to the house was substantial, and our client quickly informed us that it was no mean feat to carry the shopping, let alone their infant son with his Scooter.

From our introductory discussion a design brief was written. Some structures were incorporated, including a safe area for Timothy to play, lighting to assist safe step climbing, evening relaxation, a focal point, a level lawn and planting that would provide structure as well as be easy to maintain.

Landscape Garden Design Oxfordshire

This delightful new-build “L” shaped garden of some 350 SqM situated in a small village between Oxford and Newbury. Unfortunately, within 12 months Gavin 1new houses will be built behind the rear fence.

Our brief was to create a design to obscure the new houses that will be constructed and might overlook the garden.

The garden faced south, so it was ideal for entertaining friends. At our initial meeting with the client, we established some interesting ideas that would be of interest.

These included the possibility of having a water feature, so one hears the quiet trickling of water.

The gentleman liked the idea of growing vegetables, and the lady wanted to maximise the view of the garden into the evening by subtle lighting at strategic focal points.

The garden also lent itself to a high-class lawn to meet the gentleman’s want of mowing on Saturdays after a busy week in the city.

Town Garden Design Oxford

Town Gardens are sometimes small rectangular affairs being overlooked by surrounding properties. The Oxfordshire garden here was a near narrow rectangular plot with neighbouring houses overlooking from its back fence.

Our client's wish was for us to provide a modern garden design that would unfold as one walks down the it's length. Plus a provision of a secluded seating area and swing raised planting beds and a central focal point.

Being small it would be ideal if the structures could reflect the sun as it travels overhead of the house. Our final design included tubular polished stainless steel posts to semi-screen the different sections, yet provide stunning focal points of their own.
